Energetic osteopathy
The aim of energetic osteopathy is to activate the self-healing capacities of the body and to recover the natural balance of the organism. It’s a very gentle and holistic manual therapy with positive effects on the entire body. The individual is treated as a whole: psyche, physis, and the energetic state are equally addressed. Malfunctions will be diagnosed and treated manually.
The goal is to optimally provide the all structures of the body and recover the natural balance of the body. Energetic osteopathy can be used in cases of acute physical problems, various chronical illnesses or in order to prevent future physical complaints.
Every sickness represents an imbalance in the system.

The fusion between osteopathy and energetic treatments
Energetic osteopathy consists of two different forms of therapy: On the one side, there is the “pure” osteopathy with its manual techniques. In itself,it is a great treatment, but it focuses only on the physical and functional bodysystems. On the other side, energetic therapies are used.They aim at treating specifically the causes of the symptoms.
These two procedures – classical osteopathy and energetic treatments – complement each other in a unique way. Osteopathy (for horses) uses very gentle manual techniques. This approach allows the involved structures, such as vertebras or joints, to simply slip back into their former (correct) positions in their own pace. The surrounding tissue and muscles are given enough time to adapt. In this regard, it is important to know that the surrounding tissue often times holds the dislocated body part in its unnatural position (on order to prevent pain or further damage). Forcing the dislocated body part back in its original position without treating its surroundings, will do more harm than good and usually doesn’t help the problem, as the tissue forces the body part back into the former unnatural position. Thus, in osteopathy we don’t simply set the bones, but also treat the surrounding areas. Hereby the body is given the necessary impulses to heal itself. You would like to read more?

The body as a single unit
Energetic osteopathy, like many other medical theories, believe that the body is one big single unit. It consists of various systems, such as the nervous system, the lymphatic system, the vascular system, the craniosacral system, the meridian system and the psyche. In order to find out whether a horse is truly healthy, on has to look at all of these systems:
- How does it look like on the structural side, which consist of the support and mobility apparatus, the organs and the physical structures?
- Is the biomechanical side with the metabolic processes, the hormone balance, the immune system and the orthomolecular regulatory circuit alright?
- Are there any psychological problems: emotional factors of the present, unprocessed traumatic memories from the past?
- And last but not least, is the energetic system with its meridians and the electromagnetic components in harmony?
Each of these units is functionally connected to the other ones. This means that each illness, every restriction of movement, any psychological problem can be caused by any of the components or systems named above. Due to the functional relationships between these systems and structures, a symptom should never be viewed by itself. It must be viewed in connection to the entire body. A blocked cervical vertebra for example can lead to problems with eyes or ears. Likewise, cardiac arrhythmia can be caused by a blocked thoracic vertebra. Problems with the knees are often connected to hormonal problems or develop secondarily due to wrong feeding.
Thus, a problem (symptom) must be approached from all angles (see above) in order to be able to find the true cause and eliminate it. In order to do this, an exact anamnesis and a sound medical background of the functional relationships of the body systems are an essential prerequisite for a holistic diagnosis and therapy. The objective of energetic osteopathy is to find, locate and treat malfunctions within these systems.
Not just a single structure or only a specific organ is sick, its always the entire horse that’s sick.
Advantages of the energetic horse osteopathy
In comparison to the classical (pure) osteopathy, or mere energetic treatments, the fusion of these two methods has an even more holistic approach and thus aims at substantiality. This fusion of the manual and energetic therapy, problems can be approached from different angles. The energetic horse osteopath has a much broader scope in comparison to mere osteopaths or therapists that only work with energetic methods. Only if you look at the horse in its entireness (its physiological, psychological and energetic state of health), can are horse be treated efficiently and substantially.
